My Story:
In the summer of 2003 I was telling my mom I was going pee a lot the last few days. She told me by my symptoms she thought I must have a UTI. She gave me some cranberry juice and I went to summer school. She had made a doctors appointment later that day. We went to my appointment and the doctor checked my urine. In a few minutes the doctor came in and said I have diabetes. I was in complete shock. For the first few months after being diagnosed, I felt like I couldn’t eat anything. Now I’m on an insulin pump and trying to manage my T1D with the help of my Endocrinologist. I just celebrated my 33rd birthday.
