My Story:
I was diagnosed at age 8, 47 years ago. Times and treatment have certainly changed, but sadly, treating lows is still a challenge. The glucose tablets have not improved much over the years, so I find myself using gummy bears, which I now can’t stand either. In 2001, my beautiful 7-year-old daughter was also diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Shortly after that, she told me that “God must have chosen her to be diabetic so that I wouldn’t have to go through everything alone.” She’s my inspiration every single day and I’d love to find something that will help her through this journey as well.
