My Story:
I have been type 1 diabetic for over 27 years. I was diagnosed when I was 5 years old. A few weeks after my 5th birthday, and a few weeks before I began Kindergarten. I missed over 100 days of Kindergarten, but that didn’t hold me back, and nothing else has stopped me since! My grandma was also a type 1, diagnosed in her 30s, and she was always my role model growing up. She kept herself healthy, and I don’t ever remember a time when she felt sorry for herself or let her diabetes get her down. That is what I strive to be like as well. I have zero complications, and that’s the way I hope to keep it! I am hard on myself and I am my own worst critic when it comes to my diabetes, but I have learned to give myself grace and take each battle as it comes. I now work in education and on my website and Instagram. Follow along on my journey – @bolus_and_bows Every day I pray for a cure, and I hope in my lifetime I am able to see it happen!

How has Transcend helped treat your low blood sugars?
Transcend Glucose Gels are the best find for me. I tend to over-treat lows out of fear and I have feeling low. Transcend brings me up faster than juice, glucose tabs, candy, etc. so I don’t end up over-taking and ending up on a high-low roller coaster of blood sugars.
