My Story:
I persevere with diabetes in many ways. First and foremost, in my everyday life. I choose to live every day to its fullest. Whether that means being in the field hanging ductwork, or sitting at my desk. After work, I am active on my bicycle. This might mean a short 20 mile ride with maximum effort or a long ride with endurance type efforts. Either way, I do not let T1D hold me back!

How has Transcend helped treat your low blood sugars?
I am an endurance cyclist, Transcend works fast and well when I’m on my bike battling a low. I typically don’t even have to stop, as I’ll see the trend arrow down have a quick gel and keep moving along. I also work construction, when I’m low I’m on the clock. So anytime I have a low trend the gels help out significantly. The difficult part of what I do, I’m never sure if I’m going to be going hard or easy at a moment’s notice. This creates a situation where sometimes a gel is required.
