My Story:
I was diagnosed with T1 at 22 years old. I had just graduated college and spent that summer with all of the classic symptoms. Unfortunately, no doctor did a basic glucose test and I ended up in the ICU with keto acidosis and the diagnosis. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have access to the tools and medicines I need to manage this disease and I try never to forget it.

How has Transcend helped treat your low blood sugars?
In 2015, I was visiting my sister overseas in Tbilisi, Georgia. We met for lunch one day and something I ate started to make me feel ill. She went back to work and I returned to the apartment where things got progressively very bad. By the time my sister got home, my blood sugar was dangerously low because I couldn’t keep anything down to treat it. My poor sister had to live through a very scary and very dramatic rescue to the hospital (no ambulance in an unfamiliar city). The only thing I had that night that I am sure kept me conscious and sort of standing were 2 Transcend gel packets that, miraculously, stayed in my stomach when nothing else would.
