My Story:
My life has been full of rollercoasters! When I was diagnosed at age 5 my whole family learned about my new disease. Now I love teaching others about diabetes and how it effects us. I’m now a mom to a special needs little boy. I have learned my hypo and hyper signs as it’s very important to manage myself while taking care of my mini me.

My diabetic hero is by far Anthony. Anthony is my local diabetes camps coordinator. I think it’s incredible that he went from a camper to counselor to a top seat position and he doesn’t let things get in his way! His positivity is amazing and I love that he helps other kids with Type 1.
What is your biggest challenge with diabetes?
My biggest challenge with diabetes used to be feeling different. Burn out happened frequently in my teenage years but I have learned to embrace my disease and teach others about it! My challenge now is my roller coaster.
What have you learned from your experiences with diabetes?
NEVER GIVE UP! There will be bad days but you can’t have a rainbow without a little rain.
