I’m a survivor of going into ketoacidosis at least 5 times in my life, and 2 years ago I had a heart attack. I thought I was just having really bad heartburn, but I became really sick with pain radiating from my chest to back with shortage of breath. My husband took me to the ER where they told me my cardiac enzymes were high. I ended up having a stent put into an artery with a 3-day stay in the hospital. The times before in the hospital I had doctors ask me why I was still alive. God isn’t done with me yet is my answer. I’m doing my best to try and do better these days. I’m eating from a somewhat strict diet, which is hard. I’ve had type 1 diabetes for 42 years, and besides having a complication or two, I’m doing good.
