My Story:

Playing basketball as a kid was always a challenge to keep my sugars up. Now as an adult, it’s hard because sometimes it just doesn’t want to come up and it gives me bad anxiety.

My Health Details

Do you have a diabetic hero that you look up to? If so, who and why?

I don’t have a particular hero, but when I see people that have followed their dreams I admire them. As a kid I was told I couldn’t go to college or have the career I wanted due to diabetes. It has taken years to be able to not believe that.

What is your biggest challenge with diabetes?

Lows and causing me anxiety when it takes extra to get my blood sugars up.

What have you learned from your experiences with diabetes?

To be prepared for anything. I believe diabetes has taught me to be compassionate to others.
